This beautiful “blackish” Roasted Ash or also called Thermo Treatment Ash end-grain cutting board is ideal for meal prep. The grain pattern looks great in the pictures, but in-person this cutting board looks so much better. It has a blackish look to it which sets it apart from other woods.
This end-grain cutting board with a juice groove is a professional cutting board. On an end grain cutting board, you’re actually cutting between the wood fibers instead of a face grain which cuts across the grain which dulls your knife, and shows a lot more cuts on the cutting board. Cut-in handles on each side make carrying easy and a juice groove to help your countertop clean.
What is ROASTED ASH or THERMO TREATMENT… Thermally modified Ash is produced by the thermo-treatment process. When complete, the process carmelizes the sugars in the wood which gives the ash a dark brown appearance all the way through the wood. The process also allows the ash to become more water resistant and decay resistant.
The finish on this board is my very own Wood Conditioner. A ratio of Organic Mineral Oil that penetrates the wood, and White Beeswax that protect and gives that warm luster look. (Beeswax & Organic Mineral OIL... FOOD SAFE)
